We all know that public speaking is for many a scary prospect.

But what do I mean by ‘public speaking’?

It doesn’t even have to be a formal situation, such as a keynote or presentation on a stage. As often as not, the challenge of speaking out in an informal team meeting is just as much of a challenge for many.

I also work with an increasing number of people who really hate the thought of even communicating through a webcam.

The challenge with this of course, is whilst these people are staying safe, they are also preventing themselves from doing something that they could be great at, or at the very least, something that they already do that they could be much better at.
You may not see yourself as an outgoing person.

According to research 40% of adults are shy and a further 15% deal with extreme shyness. The challenge with this in turn, is that there is a wealth of fascinating inspiring thought leadership out there that is going unnoticed.

Here’s the good news.

You don’t have to be outgoing to be able to speak in public.

• Quietly confident?  Yes!

• Full of self-belief?  Yes!

• Outgoing? – absolutely not.

How do I know it works?

I am more of an introvert than an extrovert.

The last 20 years has been an incredibly steep learning curve for me as I was terrified of public speaking back then. I made a conscious decision to confront these fears and in doing so, over these 20 years, I have learned what works and what doesn’t when it comes to standing – and delivering. I was a professional actor for 8 of those years and have been a speaker and a coach in the remaining 12.

I have found the answer to confronting self-doubt and fears exposure and judgement.

Course Curriculum

There are 7 elements to emotional control under pressure, which together comprise the Impact SUCCESS® formula:

Each element of the Impact SUCCESS® System will be available in a sequence of 7 videos, starting from February 2018.

Video 1: Strategise

Change your mindset from ‘success or failure’ to ‘Rejoice, Reframe and Refine’, so that you are inspired to try new things that lead you to more success.

Why? Because reframing setbacks in a positive light keeps you focused on success and on learning, creating a powerful tool for continuous improvement.

Video 2: Unlock your potential

Access the most useful state for the situation you are in – so that you can perform at your best.

Why? Because your emotional state affects your response to any event, and has a major influence on the outcome to that event. What matters under pressure is your ability to access your ability.

Video 3: Concentrate on solutions

Move from excuses to accountability. Look for solutions, don’t dwell on problems.

Why? Because focusing on problems is a waste of time – both emotionally and practically. When instead you focus on solutions you are primed to notice what is working and know what your goal is.

Video 4: Cheat

Find and replicate the precise strategies
that other people are using to get the results you
want.

Why? Because you need to be agile, to accelerate your
success in a rapidly changing world where more is required of us in less time.

Video 5: Empower your future

Set goals that inspire you. Why? Setting goals helps you to clarify what you want and increases the chances of you
succeeding. Pursuing goals that are important to
you is the hallmark of a peak performer.

Video 6: Seize a charismatic identity

Take on more useful beliefs about yourself that will allow you to reach more of your potential.

Why? Because people perform according to their beliefs about themselves. When you adopt empowering beliefs, they help you perform at your very best.

Video 7: Stretch yourself

Break out of the comfort zone and overcome any

fears that may be holding you back.

Why? To get better results may mean having to step outside your comfort zone. By understanding fears we see how they can instruct us rather than obstruct us.
